After
Plastic Surgery
Directly following your plastic surgery procedure you will
probably not feel much of anything due to the drugs and anesthesia
administered prior to your operation. Stitches and dressings
will most likely be applied to your incision areas and will
be removed on your return checkup by your surgeon. The discomfort
and pain each person experiences are dependent on their procedure,
different pain thresholds, and any complications. The plastic
surgeon will prescribe different pain medications, as he/she
deems necessary. Some people experience a lesser amount of
discomfort with facial plastic surgery procedures.
Each
plastic surgeon will have conduct post-operation appointments
to evaluate your healing process and prevent any problems
from developing. The surgeon will instruct when the patient
can return to every day activities, and different procedures
require various precautions and healing times. Showering and
returning to work may take a few days, and exercising and
sports should be avoided for a longer amount of time dependent
on your healing time and the plastic surgeons advice.
Everybodys healing time will vary.
